The biggest attraction here lies 35 miles out in the ocean in a place called Cayos Miskitos which is largely uninhabited, unless it is lobster season.

Except for this report, I have not heard of any other published article about this region. National Geographic has visited the Cayes and did mention that they were going to release a story on this area. Some good friends of mine, Morgan McDonnell & Gab riella Conea, told me that many of the 80 odd Cayes that make up Cayos Misquitos are surrounded by flats that are inhabited by bonefish and permit, and those fish are the intended target of his upcoming exploratory excursions in this area. These excursion s are being promoted by a Miami company called TRANSMARINE Special Interests Tours (e-mail). They will be using a modified, 55 foot, commercial fishing vessel which is safe and convertible.

Do you still think Nicaragua is not ready for tourism?

Nicaragua is now the third most important tourism destination in Central America and leads the region in the rate of increase in tourist arrivals.

What is there to wait for? It is inexpensive, adventuresome and totally new.......Jump in or drop your line - it is waiting for you.
