Belén, "Latin" refers to the language family of romance languages which include Spanish, French and Portuguese and are descendants of ancient Latin.

"Roman" is the demonym of the people who SPOKE Latin, as citizens of the Roman Empire. Being a "Latin", however, implies that you speak a language descendant of Latin. I only say this in case you're too stupid to get the difference.

Besides, further shame on you, Belén. South America ISN'T Latin America, rather, South America is PART of Latin America.

South America are the countries located from Colombia downwards. Central America are the countries from Belize and Guatemala to Panama. North America are Canada, USA and Mexico. The West Indies are the islands in the Caribbean sea.

Now, Latin America includes all the countries who speak any language that is a language descendant of Latin. So Mexico (in North America), Belize, etc. and Haiti (speaks créole, mainly French-derivated language) are all in Latin America. I should note that Jamaica, despite being in the same geographical zone as Haiti, ISN'T part of Latin America because Jamaica speaks English, a GERMANIC language.

If you want to bring ascendancy into the mix, Belén, let me tell you that because the Conquistares couldn't keep their d*ngs in their pants, MORE THAN HALF of Latin America's population HAS "European-Latin" blood. So yes, both by the CORRECT definition and by your EXTREMELY flawed definition us Latin Americans are Latin.

Please don't show your ignorance around here.

Thank you.
