Probably the most annoying place to bring dogs or cats into is here in the UK: there is a 6 month quarantine for dogs from the States. However, we've become a bit more lenient: pets can now be quarantined in the owners home for the 6 months before they arrive here.

How many cats can I bring (with proper paperwork) with me to live in Mexico? Anyone have info on the number of pets you can have per household in Mexico? I can't imagine leaving one or more behind - Thanks

for panama i always can only find what to do and what paper to need when you are flying. but we will be driving through Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and than into panama. i believe bringing the cats into panama, should be less involved. so will i expect at the panamanian border to need a Certificate of Good Health? how about rabbies vaccine, my cats are housecats, they did have one round of rabbies vaccines, but they have the three year one.
i don't believe when traveling per car that the paperwork can be so complicated.
please reply with proof please, thanks

What are the rules for bringing pet parrots into Ecuador? And does the same ban exist on taking them back out of the country that exists in Costa Rica? We aren't sure yet where we want to live and don't want to risk losing our macaw if we move again. Are there any Central or South American countries that would allow us to bring her in and take her back out if we decide to leave? Thank you so much.

It's interesting to see how many countries actually ban ferrets as a pest. In the Northern hemisphere plenty of people use them for hunting but certainly in many southern hemisphere countries, Australia etc, they are banned because if they escape into the wild they are so efficient at hunting things can soon get out of control. Thanks for the pet info by the way.
