Bouquete has more developed places to stay at this point in time. But Bocas has a lot more to do and a lot of cool/hip eco-resorts coming. If you like adventure, exploring, and people to meet — Bocas is the better vacation choice.

It’s hard to compare the two since they are so different. I prefer Bocas because I agree that there is more to do and see, but Boquete is a beautiful place to get away from the hot and humid weather and take advantage of some of the things you can’t find in Bocas.

My feeling is that Bocas is more for the adventurous types whereas Boquete is more relaxed and easy to navigate.

Two of Panama’s most stunning tourist attractions for two very different types of vacations…

I don’t see the point in comparing them in this way.

One is an archipielago full of amazing beaches: Bocas del Toro

And the other is more than 1,000 meters above sea level where you can find Panama’s most impresive mountain scenery and is considered Panama’s Eco-Adventure Capital… for all ages.

Boquete’s restaurants and hotels are certainly nicer and there is a lot more from where to choose from…

I personally find that in Boquete there are more “organized” tours to choose from… check out:

And you can also have your trips to the beach from Boquete:

The islands of the Chiriqui Gulf have nothing to envy from Bocas del Toro. Snorkeling, Scuba Diving and Fishing is definitevely better than in Bocas (think about Isla Secas, Las Paridas and Coiba) and THEY ARE NOT CROWDED of tourists (thought it is certainly a lot more difficult to get to them as they are more remote).

Thinking about it… Boquete is like the perfect base to explore the entire province of Chiriqui!
